“I am thankful for the opportunities I’ve had. I hope to stick around for a few more years,” exclaims Val, an employee of Capital Region Housing. “35 years! Who would have thought? Not me. I started in April 1982 with the company; we were known as Edmonton Housing Authority. At the time, we were a Crown Corporation; I would have to guess that we had approximately 100 staff. Through the years, you have your ups and downs, however I would have to say that the ups (good) outweighed the downs (bad) as I am still here. You work hard and you work through them. I am very thankful for the opportunities that I have had and I hope to stick around for a few more years!”

This is Val’s Story. Val was hired in 1982 and has worked for CRH for 35 years in various capacities including Receptionist, Information Officer, Placement Officer, Lease Administrator, Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk and Senior Financial Officer. As one of CRH’s veterans, Val is a valued member of the CRH family and is known for her warm smile, wealth of information and ability to invest her skills and talents in assisting Albertans to find a home.
